The lanes were constructed by nailing 1" strips of lumber together. The photo to the left is a cut through a lane and you can see the different strips and a nail that was used to nail them together. All 79ft of lane (63ft lane +16ft approach) were constructed as one single piece. The lanes were built standing on their sides as each wood strip was nailed on. Heavy metal bars were then attached to the bottom of the lane at 4-5 foot on center. A person would then grab each bar and they would lay the lane down in place.
